Army Aviators in Korea First to Receive New Chem-bio Suit

The 2nd Combat Aviation “Talon” Brigade, 2nd Combat Infantry Division at Camp Humphreys and Seoul Air Base in Korea recently were the first Army units fielded the new Joint Protective Aircrew Ensemble (JPACE).

The JPACE is a one-piece coverall that provides chem bio protection and flame resistance for aircrews. Army aviators wear the JPACE with
a vapor protective neck dam to provide added protection in the head/neck region. The JPACE provides the Soldier with 16 hours of chemical protection in a contaminated environment after 30 days of wear. The JPACE integrates and is compatible with legacy and new CB clothing items and chemical masks.

Members of PEO Soldier were present to assist with the fielding.
