Putting Our Heads Together

PEO Soldier brought together sports, academia, medical and military partners at their Head Protection Conference earlier this month. Together this megacommunity spent time exchanging findings and information, collaborating on technology, policies and best practices, and coordinating their head protection efforts. The conference was an opportunity to bring together the brightest innovators in their field to raise awareness of each other’s efforts.

The conference established a forum of experts who will concentrate on preventing and mitigating head injuries from blast, ballistic, and impact threats and provided our partners with information on the capabilities required for the military. The results of such shared efforts could have widespread applications from the little league football field to the battlefield in the form of enhanced head protection technologies and products.

As an organization committed to providing Soldiers with the best equipment available, PEO Soldier is always seeking innovative, technologically advanced means to develop and acquire newer and better equipment. The Conference was part of an ongoing campaign to facilitate knowledge sharing to support the development of current and future concepts for military head protection.

PEO Soldier has established a panel of experts to develop solutions for injury prevention and mitigation, and to improve head protection from threats on the battlefield. We are working to support DoD efforts to meet the challenge of providing better protection for Soldiers exposed to concussive threats.
